Delhi, India – Ever tried on a traditional Sari? You will feel pampered while the assistant will skillfully shapes it around your body as the silk touches your skin.
The beauty of a traditional Sari, whether woven, embroidered, painted or block-printed, lies in proportion and balance between the actual field of the Sari, the borders and the pallu – the loose end of the Sari. It has an impressive size of approximately 47 by 216 inches and, although an untailored length of cloth, the fabric is highly structured and its design very sophisticated, with the decorative frieze of flowering plants, figurative images, paisleys or abstract symbols.
Another magic experience when you travel in India, although I must confess I have not been able to find a modern twist to add it to my wardrobe.
